Construction for the GM Wintergarden began in March, 1999, and on December 15, 2001, the dramatic 5-story atrium was filled with its first visitors for the Detroit 300 Gala–which celebrated the conclusion of Detroit’s tercentennial. The GM Wintergarden welcomed its first tenant in 2002, and since that time, many exciting events have been held in the beautiful Riverfront entrance of the GM Renaissance Center: Fash Bash, Hob Nob & Gobble, Pitch Detroit, Jazz in the Garden, home for the Super Bowl XL media, and more!
