Inner Circle – Level 1

The brick-paved Inner Circle is a convenient walkway to reach the many fine stores and restaurants on Level 1.

Glass Circulation Ring – Level 2

The very best way to visit the retail and office towers on Level 2 is the glass circulation ring that connects workers and visitors to each of the four office towers. Suspended on stainless steel rods from the GMRENCEN’s ceiling, this 12-foot wide walkway provides for easy navigation along 288 suspended etched glass panels. The distance around the circulation ring is approximately 1/8 mile.

Skywalk to the Millender Center

Just north of the GMRENCEN is the Millender Center, a mixed-use complex with a 265 room Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, an 1,850-space parking structure, and a fine selection of shops, services and restaurants. The Millender Center is connected to the GMRENCEN by a weatherproof skywalk and also has its own stop on the Detroit People Mover system.

If this is your first time visiting the GMRENCEN — welcome! Here are a few helpful tips to make your visit easier:

  • Check the parking page for tips on where to park.
  • Stop at the information desk, located in GM World, to pick up a GMRENCEN directory.
  • Stick to the escalators to get around. They will get you to the retail levels, the hotel and also to the Welcome Desks.
  • If you are coming for a business meeting, plan an extra 10-15 minutes to allow time for check-in. Note what tower you’ll be visiting and head for the corresponding Welcome Desk on level 2 (towers 100-400). You’ll need your ID for check-in and to receive your visitor badge.

Accessibility

Barrier free access can be found throughout the GMRENCEN. Accessibility doors are available in the Jefferson Lobby, the Wintergarden and throughout the many building entrances. The public elevator can be found in the corner of the Wintergarden adjacent to Panera Bread, and is reachable from Level A, 1 and 2. Other public elevators are near the Beaubien and Port Atwater Parking Garages. We’re set up for strollers, scooters and wheelchairs, and licensed guide dogs are also permitted.
